Hammar H20 is a hydrostatic release unit designed to be safe and reliable in all extreme conditions that you and your ship might meet on the oceans. Should the vessel sink, the Hammar H20, which is activated by increasing water pressure, will automatically release liferafts and EPIRBs.

The H20 is the best-selling hydrostatic release unit in the world and it has been saving lives on the oceans for more than 25 years. Its safe, reliable and simple design, has earned it more worldwide approvals than any other unit.

The construction of glass fibre reinforced nylon prevents the Hammar H20 from corroding, which means that no annual service, maintenance or spare parts are needed. You simply install a new one every two years and dispose of the old one. With the environment in mind, the old unit is 97% recyclable.
Thanks to simple handling procedures, storage costs are also kept to a minimum. The H20 enables easier, quicker, trouble-free installation and thereby considerably reducing your customers’ downtime ashore.

H20 hydrostatic release can also be combined with Hammar’s Remote Release Systems, which enables you to release liferafts from the bridge or other strategic locations onboard. This means that in an emergency situation you can save precious time and possible also lives.

Whether you are a ship owner, designer, builder or onboard safety officer, Hammar Remote Release Systems offer flexible solutions with many distinct advantages in terms of safety and cost.

Saving lives
Thanks to a remote triggering system, lifesaving and other equipment can be released from the bridge or other strategic locations onboard. This means that in an emergency situation, you can save precious time. Furthermore, the release mechanism can be deployed irrespective of parameters such as weather, smoke, fire or degree of list to one side, without the crew having to take any unnecessary risks.

Financial benefits
The systems not only improve safety onboard, they also represent a sound economic investment. Liferafts can be positioned in remote locations onboard and valuable deck surface can be freed for passengers or cargo to increase profitability. Since the systems are easy to handle, you can also minimise both crew and training costs.

Optimising work onboard
Besides saving lives and improving economy, the systems can simplify work onboard in many areas. Closing and opening doors or releasing buoy systems, maintenance equipment and other heavy loads up to 1 ton, are just a few of many possible applications. You get a head start by planning for Hammar Remote Release Systems from the initial design stage, but the systems can also be retro-fitted.
