Kayak & Watersports Manager

Reporting to the Branch Manager

CH Marine is one of Ireland's leading marine equipment suppliers in both the retail and wholesale sectors. We are presently seeking applications for a qualified person to run our busy Watersports department, which is an amalgamation of Bantry Bay Canoes and CH Marine. This is an all-year-round permanent position in a progressive company and will suit candidates, who enjoy leading a department, being part of a team and working in a fast paced and busy environment.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Manage purchasing for entire kayaking department includes forward planning and identifying selling trends
  • Work with the purchasing department to manage pricing levels, inputting prices and overseeing the maintenance of the pricing structure
  • Manage and prepare all quotations and sales
  • Identify marketing opportunities, develop and implement marketing plan with outsourced provider
  • Manage, oversee and update ecommerce platform for Kayaking and Watersport category and ensure that web orders are fulfilled effectively and efficiently
  • Arrange and manage transport of Kayaks for deliveries in conjunction with warehouse staff
  • Professionally advise on all sales, including floor, phone and web sales
  • Manage and oversee stock levels, storage and presentation of stock
  • Staff management: lead, delegate, develop and grow team in line with department needs (currently team of 2)
  • Represent and attend company events as needed, including trade shows or exhibitions

Skills required

  • Proficient knowledge of all kayaking codes and equipment
  • Excellent working knowledge of IT and computer skills consistent with the standards required in a modern sales and purchasing environment, includes Excel, SAP B1, Word and Gmail
  • While e-commerce experience is advantageous, training can be given
  • Proven people management skills with ability to lead, delegate, develop and motivate a team
  • Must have proven organisational and time management skills
  • Proven ability to make decisions and problem solve
  • Strong customer focus
  • Effective and impactful communication skills
  • Flexibility to travel and work outside of normal hours occasionally, as needed

  • Hours of work: 40-hour week based around operating days of Monday to Saturday

Kayak & Watersports Sales Assistant

Reporting to the Department Manager

CH Marine is one of Ireland's leading marine equipment suppliers in both the retail and wholesale sectors. We are presently seeking applications for a Sales Assistant to join our busy Watersports department, which is an amalgamation of Bantry Bay Canoes and CH Marine.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Greet customers in a professional and friendly manner
  • Provide guidance on product information to customers, includes answering questions and offering assistance and opinions to all customers
  • Manage all inbound phone calls and respond to emails in a timely and professional manner
  • Provide sales and customer service in a professional, effective and friendly manner, including walks-in, phone and web sales
  • Stock shop shelves with merchandise, ensuring display and organisation of stock on the floor is attractive and well maintained at all times
  • Assist with and maintain space saving storage of stock
  • Loading and unloading of Kayak or SUPS, as needed to meet customer demands; this involves physical demands of lifting stock
  • Representation and attendance at Company events as needed, including trade shows and exhibitions

Skills required

  • Must have proven training or experience in kayaking, kayak product knowledge and kayak safety
  • Must have basic knowledge of Excel and Gmail
  • Experience in Enterpyze, BigCommerce or other ecommerce systems would be advantageous
  • Proven understanding of sales principles and customer service practices
  • Must have a good eye for display and merchandising
  • Must be a team player with proven ability to work well with others
  • Must be able to use own initiative and a problem solver
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Must be thorough and pay attention to detail
  • Must be willing and flexible to travel and work outside of normal work hours very occasionally, as needed

Purchasing and Product Data Management Assistant

Reporting to the Purchasing Manager

We are presently seeking applications for a Purchasing Assistant for our ordering and product management department based in our Cork Store. This is an exciting position in a progressive company and will suit candidates who enjoy being part of a team, working in a fast paced and busy environment.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Preparing and submitting purchase orders
  • Organising shipping and transport for all CH Marine products
  • Operating and adjusting order forecasting programs under the direction of Purchasing Manager
  • Price & product maintenance
  • Assistance in stock control and providing stock data in a timely fashion, as needed
  • Understanding and adapting to buying trends daily, includes ongoing communication and liaising with sales team
  • Identifying and resolution of supply chain issues, communication with the team and decision making
  • Representation and attendance at company events as needed, including trade shows

Skills required

  • Excellent knowledge of MS Excel & Word
  • Experience in working with SAP B1 would be advantageous but not essential
  • Proven numeracy and analytical skills
  • Previous experience in purchasing would be advantageous
  • Must have attention to detail and be accurate, strong organisational skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Must be a team player and have proven ability to work well with others

Warehouse Operative

Reporting to the Warehouse Manager

CH Marine, one of Ireland's leading marine equipment suppliers, is seeking applicants for a Warehouse Operative in their busy and fast moving Frankfield Road store.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Process all goods inwards, includes checking stock in and adding to the system using the Company handheld device
  • Process all goods outwards, includes processing all web and sales orders on the system, packing and labelling
  • Stock Control: managing stock transfers and stock requests from 4 depots. Also managing all stock in and storing appropriately to include shop floor
  • Picking and packing of all stock to meet order requirements and business needs
  • Order processing on SAP B1
  • Use of courier integrated terminals to process and track orders

Skills required

  • Must have attention to detail, accuracy, orderliness and accountability
  • Strong computer skills are essential, including Gmail, SAP B1, Big Commerce (e-commerce platform), WMS, Courier integrated terminals. Training can be given but experience on similar programs is essential
  • Must have previous Warehouse experience and knowledge of Warehouse procedures
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Must be able to multitask, prioritise and work well under pressure
  • Must be a team player with proven ability to work well with others
  • Must be comfortable lifting and moving stock
  • Valid Driver’s licence essential
  • Trailer licence advantageous
