Description

The Haztec Gas Controller System incorporates a two sensor gas alarm with a solenoid gas control valve. It is available in 12 or 24V versions. If gas build-up is detected, the controller operates the alarms and automatically shuts down the gas supply by means of the solenoid valve.

Designed to provide a total gas detection solution from one unit, the systems are available with one or two liquified petroleum gas (LPG) OR Carbon Monoxide (CO) detectors, standard or 'no volt' latching gas valve, optional remote sounder and 12 or 24 volt supply .

Operation of the gas valve is by single power switch on main console, which also sets the unit in motion. Detection of either LPG or CO will cause the unit to shut the gas valve and so eliminate further problems, the built-in alarm will sound and trigger the remote sounder, if fitted. An alarm test button is also featured. The unit has a fail safe system in the event of power failure and will automatically close the gas valve so as to not leave the vessel unprotected.

Gas Leaks

Propane and butane are than air, and a small leak can rapidly accumulate at floor or bilge level, providing the potential for a massive explosion. The Haztec LPG sensor is set to detect gas at just 10% of the lower explosive level.

Carbon Monoxide
Normally the product of incomplete combustion, CO may originate from cookers, water heaters, fridges, engine exhausts or heaters of any type (including ducted air). CO has no taste or odour, but a mere 0.35 concentration in air may kill a human within 30 minutes.
The Haztec CO Sensor is one of the most advanced on the market today, and will give visual level indication, with time weighted average for complete peace of mind. An audible alarm will sound if a danger level is reached. It meets performance standards UL2032 and CSA6-96, and is individually calibrated.

''No Power'' Latching Gas Valve
A big attraction to the power conscious yachtsman, the valve uses 'no power' after it has been opened by the control unit. Fail safe operation closes it in the event of a power failure.

For convenience, the system can be utilised to turn the gas supply ON or OFF, without having to handle manual valves in often difficult locations.

(Carbon monoxide detectors are available to special order. Please enquire.)
