NMEA 2000 Connection

The ZG100 connects directly to a standard NMEA 2000 network using its Micro-C connector. Compatible B&G, Simrad and Lowrance displays on the network can access the available position, heading, heel and trim data.

An existing powered NMEA 2000 backbone or a suitable NMEA 2000 starter kit is required for installation.

1. How frequently does the ZG100 refresh GPS data?

ZG100 is capable of refreshing positions at up to 10 Hz frequency. It ensures smooth position, Course Over Ground and Speed Over Ground data, especially when accelerating and maneuvering.

2. Is there any integrated compass in the ZG100?

Yes. ZG100 includes a solid-state heading sensor with accuracy about ±3°. The heading data can be used for chart orientation, stabilization, overlay on radar and instrument display.

3. Is ZG100 capable of use in autopilot or MARPA functions?

No. The integrated heading sensor is not suitable for autopilot and MARPA functions. For this purpose you need a compatible rate compass, for example, B&G Precision-9.

4. How can I connect the ZG100 to my marine equipment?

ZG100 is connected to your marine system through NMEA 2000 interface with Micro-C connector. ZG100 is able to exchange GPS, heading, heel and trim data via NMEA 2000 network.
