SOLAS Ships Pilot Ladder

Premium European-manufactured pilot ladder designed for the safe embarkation and disembarkation of pilots and personnel. Available in 2.5 m, 3 m, 3.5 m, and 4 m lengths, these ladders deliver reliable performance on commercial vessels while fully meeting international maritime safety requirements.

Features

• Side ropes: 20 mm first-class manila ropes with breaking strength exceeding 24 kN, finished with hard eyes for secure attachment of additional securing ropes.
• Steps: First-quality hardwood (European beech) with ergonomic shapes, fully rounded edges, and a specially designed anti-slip surface for grip and comfort. Includes hardwood steps, spreader steps (1.8 m / 180 cm wide), and rubber steps (typically 3–4 at the lower end) that absorb impact and improve vertical stability.
• Visibility & durability: Bright yellow-green fluorescent plastic chocks for high visibility in daylight and low-light conditions. Aluminium clamps provide a firm, gap-free hold that protects the side ropes; damaged steps can be replaced easily without replacing the clamps.
• Construction: Built to prevent twisting, with continuous side ropes and permanent length markings for accurate rigging.

Approvals & Compliance

Fully compliant with ISO 799-1:2019 (E) and SOLAS requirements. MED and DNV approved, with Wheelmark certification. Supplied with manufacturer’s certificate, EC-Type Examination Certificate (Module B), and Declaration of Conformity.

Suitable for pilot transfer arrangements on ships where freeboard requires a pilot ladder (typically climbs of 1.5–9 m). The shorter lengths are particularly practical for smaller commercial vessels, workboats, and situations with limited freeboard.
