Compatibility
Compatible with Garmin Force Kraken trolling motors, including applicable:
- 63-inch shaft models
- 75-inch shaft models
- 90-inch shaft models
- Black Force Kraken trolling motors
This bracket is designed specifically for the Force Kraken range. It is not the correct quick-release system for the original Garmin Force scissor-style trolling motor.
How It Works
The system consists of a fixed deck plate and a matching bracket attached to the trolling motor.
To install the motor:
- Position the motor over the fixed deck plate.
- Lower the motor bracket onto the plate.
- Insert the locking handle.
- Secure the handle using the supplied retaining clip or a suitable padlock.
To remove the motor, disconnect the power, remove the retaining clip or padlock, withdraw the handle and lift the motor away from the deck plate.
Security
The locking handle can be secured with an outdoor-grade padlock featuring a shackle no larger than approximately 6.35 mm / ¼ inch.
A padlock is not included.
Installation Requirements
The quick-release plate must be mounted on a structurally sound section of the bow. The plate’s U-shaped section must overhang the gunwale or edge of the deck to provide the required clearance.
Before installation:
- Confirm that the deck can support the motor’s weight and operating forces.
- Use a backing plate or reinforce the deck where necessary.
- Ensure access is available beneath the deck for washers and nuts.
- Check that the motor can move freely between its stowed and deployed positions.
- Ensure the locking handle remains accessible.
- Confirm that no cables, tanks or structural components are beneath the drilling area.
A 9 mm / 11/32-inch drill bit is required for the specified mounting holes. Garmin recommends completing assembly using hand tools and observing the torque values in the installation instructions.
