Garmin Signal VHF 220 Radio - Fixed Set

The Garmin Signal™ VHF 220 is an advanced fixed-mount marine VHF radio with a built-in AIS receiver, designed to provide clear communication and improved situational awareness on the water. With its modern 3.5-inch colour touchscreen, compact edge-to-edge glass design and intuitive controls, the VHF 220 is ideal for sailboats, motorboats, cruisers and Garmin-equipped marine electronics systems.

The integrated AIS receiver allows you to view nearby AIS-equipped vessels, including their range, course, speed and crossing situation. This helps improve awareness in busy waters without requiring a separate AIS receiver. Please note that the Garmin Signal VHF 220 receives AIS information but does not transmit your vessel’s AIS position.

For reliable marine communication, the VHF 220 includes Class D Digital Selective Calling (DSC), a dedicated distress button and direct AIS target calling from the touchscreen display. Advanced adaptive noise cancellation helps reduce wind, wave and engine noise, while automated squelch, audio playback and watch modes make everyday VHF operation clearer and easier.

Installation is straightforward, with VHF, DSC and AIS reception using a single VHF antenna. The built-in GPS receiver supports DSC functionality, while NMEA 2000® and Garmin BlueNet™ networking allow integration with compatible Garmin chartplotters and marine systems. Built-in Wi-Fi also enables configuration, MMSI programming and software updates through the ActiveCaptain® app.

The included fist microphone features a built-in 5-watt speaker and can be mounted separately from the head unit for a cleaner and more flexible helm layout. The system also supports external speakers, loudhailer functionality, listen-back and intercom support when used with compatible Garmin Signal remote stations.

Built for harsh marine environments, the Garmin Signal VHF 220 has an IPX7 water rating and is a strong choice for boat owners looking for a modern VHF radio with integrated AIS reception and Garmin network compatibility.
