RYA Yachtmaster Scheme Syllabus & Logbook G158

The RYA Yachtmaster Scheme Syllabus and Logbook (G158) is the official guide to the structure, content and progression of RYA sail and motor cruising training, from first steps through to Yachtmaster Ocean.

Published by the Royal Yachting Association, this paperback sets out what to expect on practical and shorebased courses in the Yachtmaster scheme. It covers the theory of navigation, safety and seamanship, and notes the specialist one-day courses that support the pathway, including first aid and sea survival. It also explains pre-exam requirements for RYA Yachtmaster exams, so candidates can see what experience and certificates are needed before they sit for a ticket.

The book doubles as a personal record. Log pages let you record miles and time afloat, and there is space to keep course-completion certificates together. It is intended for anyone following the scheme, whether under sail or power, from novice level up to Yachtmaster Ocean.

G158 combines, updates and replaces the earlier Sail Cruising & Yachtmaster Scheme Syllabus and Logbook (G15) and Motor Cruising & Yachtmaster Scheme Syllabus and Logbook (G18), and introduces the scheme’s newer courses in one volume.
