What is the difference between monocrystalline and polycrystalline solar panel?

Monocrystalline solar panel cells are manufactured from a single crystal of silicon, whereas polycrystalline panels have cells made from several particles of silicon fused together.

The geographical area of usage is important in determining the best type of panel for your installation. Monocrystalline solar panels are suited for the higher latitudes with lower sun angles and cooler temperatures. Polycrystalline solar panels are best suited to hotter climates with more direct, overhead sunshine.
