Description
The Actisense NGX-1-ISO is an intelligent multifunction gateway designed to connect legacy NMEA 0183 equipment with modern NMEA 2000 networks.
It can be configured as a bi-directional conversion gateway, translating compatible NMEA 0183 sentences into NMEA 2000 PGNs and converting NMEA 2000 data for use by NMEA 0183 equipment.
This allows existing GPS receivers, wind instruments, depth sounders, AIS equipment and other compatible NMEA 0183 devices to share information with NMEA 2000 multifunction displays and instruments.
The ISO version features a bare-wire cable with an opto-isolated input and protected Actisense ISO-Drive output. It supports direct connections to NMEA 0183, RS232 and RS422 equipment and can operate as an RS485 listener.
Advanced configuration is available through Actisense Toolkit, allowing installers to configure transmit and receive data lists and transmission rates. The NGX-1 can also be used with Actisense NMEA Reader for network data viewing and fault diagnosis.

Important Information
The NGX-1-ISO has an open-ended bare-wire connection for NMEA 0183, RS232 or RS422 equipment. It does not include a USB connection. For direct plug-and-play USB computer connectivity, select the NGX-1-USB version.
The NGX-1-ISO does not provide Wi-Fi connectivity. Although its hardware may contain a wireless module, Wi-Fi is disabled on this model.
The gateway requires an existing, correctly powered and terminated NMEA 2000 network. Available conversions depend on the NMEA 0183 sentences and NMEA 2000 PGNs supported by the connected equipment.
