No, Garmin Boat Switch may be fitted into your boat even though you don't want to change the whole system.

Yes, you can check battery voltage, monitor bilge pump status and the levels in up to four tanks at once.
4. Do I need specific tools to install it?
No, no tools are needed in order to install it into your boat since it was made specifically for retrofitting.
