| Component | Garmin Part Number |
|---|---|
| Boat-side 70A power receptacle | 010-12832-42 |
| Motor-cable power plug | 010-12832-41 |
The receptacle and plug should be ordered together when installing a new detachable connection.
Installation
The receptacle should be installed close to the trolling motor in a position that:
- Remains accessible for connecting and disconnecting the motor
- Is protected from standing water and physical damage
- Does not place strain on the motor power cable
- Allows the protective cover to close when the motor is disconnected
Use marine-grade, correctly sized cable and terminals suitable for the motor’s voltage, current draw and total cable run.
The trolling-motor circuit must include a correctly rated circuit breaker or overcurrent-protection device installed close to the battery supply. Follow the Garmin Force or Force Kraken installation instructions when selecting the breaker and cable size.
Installation should be completed by a suitably qualified marine electrical installer.

Why Install a Power Receptacle?
A detachable connection is especially useful when the trolling motor is installed with a quick-release plate. The motor can be disconnected electrically and physically without opening junction boxes or removing cable terminals.
This arrangement can simplify:
- Trolling-motor removal
- Winter storage
- Transport
- Servicing and repairs
- Emergency power isolation
- Moving the motor between compatible installations
