Description
The Garmin GPS 24xd combines a highly accurate multi-band GNSS position receiver with an integrated magnetic heading sensor. This black version connects directly to a compatible NMEA 2000 network and provides precise position, speed and heading information to marine chartplotters, instruments and autopilots.
With a fast 10 Hz update rate, the GPS 24xd delivers smooth position tracking during acceleration and manoeuvring. Its integrated heading sensor provides heading accuracy within 3 degrees, helping stabilise chart displays, radar overlay and MARPA targets—even when the vessel is stationary or moving slowly.

Multi-Band GNSS
The GPS 24xd uses multiple frequencies and global satellite navigation systems to provide dependable position information in challenging marine environments. Access to GPS, Galileo, GLONASS and BeiDou improves satellite availability and positioning performance where the view of the sky may be partially obstructed.
Integrated Heading Sensor
The built-in magnetic heading sensor provides accurate vessel-heading information independently of GPS movement. This is particularly useful for:
- Head Up chart orientation
- Radar overlay
- MARPA target tracking
- Chart stabilisation
- Heading display at low speed
- Autopilot heading data
Correct mounting and compass calibration are required to obtain accurate heading information.
NMEA 2000 Connection
The GPS 24xd connects to a standard NMEA 2000 network using the included 6 m Micro-C cable and T-connector. Once connected to a powered backbone, compatible chartplotters, instrument displays and autopilots can access its position and heading data.
Please note: This is the black NMEA 2000 version. It is not the bare-wire NMEA 0183 HVS model.
