Garmin GPS 24xd HVS NMEA 0183 Position Receiver & Heading Sensor

The Garmin GPS 24xd HVS combines a high-sensitivity multi-band GNSS position receiver with an integrated magnetic heading sensor. Designed for marine systems using NMEA 0183, it delivers accurate position, speed and heading information to compatible chartplotters, instrument displays, autopilots and other navigation equipment.

Its 10 Hz update rate provides smooth position tracking, while the integrated heading sensor delivers heading accuracy within 3 degrees—even when the vessel is stationary or moving slowly. This helps stabilise the chart display and supports functions such as radar overlay and MARPA.

NMEA 0183 Connection

This HVS version connects using NMEA 0183 bare wires and requires a separate 8–33 V DC power supply. It can provide position and heading information to compatible Garmin equipment or other NMEA 0183 devices.

Please note: This is the NMEA 0183 version. For systems using an NMEA 2000 network, use the GPS 24xd NMEA 2000 version instead.

The installation location should have a clear view of the sky and must be kept away from magnets, speakers, engines and other sources of magnetic or electrical interference.
