Mastervolt MVG Gel Batteries – 12V

Mastervolt MVG Gel batteries are designed as dependable service batteries for medium and large 12V and 24V electrical systems.

The electrolyte is immobilised in a gel, creating a sealed and maintenance-free battery with no routine topping-up required. The MVG range is particularly suitable for intensive cyclic applications involving frequent charging and discharging.

Their low self-discharge makes them well suited to boats, campervans and seasonal installations that may remain unused for extended periods. The batteries support high charging currents, allowing them to recharge efficiently when paired with correctly configured charging equipment.

For a 24V system, two identical 12V batteries can be connected in series. Larger-capacity battery banks can also be created using properly balanced parallel connections.

Capacity rating: C20 capacity measured over a 20-hour discharge period down to 10.5V per battery.

Battery Selection and Installation

Always select a battery according to the required usable capacity, available installation space, system voltage and charging equipment.

Batteries installed in the same bank should be:

• The same model and capacity
• The same battery technology
• Of a similar age and condition
• Connected using correctly sized cables
• Charged using a suitable Gel battery charging profile

Use adequate battery retention and terminal protection. Installation and charging must follow the relevant Mastervolt instructions.

Battery delivery surcharge: If shipping is required, a €75 pallet delivery surcharge applies.

Due to their weight and transport requirements, batteries are delivered by pallet within Ireland. Collection is also available from selected CH Marine stores.
