12.8 V / 100 Ah lithium battery, 130 W solar panel, 230 V inverter/charger and battery monitoring

Bring together battery storage, solar charging and 230 V power in one Victron equipment pack. The 100 Ah Lithium SuperPack stores energy, the 130 W BlueSolar panel helps recharge it during daylight, and the MultiPlus provides 230 V output for suitably sized appliances. When a suitable AC supply is available, the MultiPlus can also charge the battery.

The BMV-712 Smart monitor helps you keep track of battery state of charge and energy use. This pack is a starting point for a professionally designed system on a boat, in a vehicle or in another suitable off-grid application.

• 1 × Victron Lithium SuperPack 12.8 V / 100 Ah High Current — lithium iron phosphate battery with integrated battery protection. Victron part number: BAT512110712.
• 1 × Victron MultiPlus 12/800/35-16, 230 V — 800 VA inverter, battery charger with up to 35 A charging current and AC transfer function. Victron part number: PMP121800000.
• 1 × Victron BMV-712 Smart Battery Monitor — battery display with Bluetooth and supplied 500 A / 50 mV shunt. Victron part number: BAM030712000R.
• 1 × Victron SmartSolar MPPT 100/30 — 12/24 V solar charge controller with Bluetooth, 100 V maximum PV open-circuit voltage and 30 A rated battery charging current. Victron part number: SCC110030210.
• 1 × Victron BlueSolar 130 W Monocrystalline Panel — nominal 12 V solar panel measuring 1200 × 668 × 30 mm. Victron part number: SPM041301200.

Energy storage with built-in battery protection

The Lithium SuperPack provides 100 Ah at 12.8 V, equivalent to approximately 1280 Wh of nominal stored energy. It has an integrated Battery Management System (BMS) and an internal switch that can disconnect the battery in the event of over-discharge, overcharge or high temperature.

The battery stores energy for correctly connected 12 V loads and for the MultiPlus inverter. Actual available running time depends on the connected equipment, battery condition and operating conditions.

230 V AC power and mains charging

When external AC is unavailable, the MultiPlus converts battery energy into 230 V pure sine wave output. Its inverter is rated at 800 VA; Victron specifies continuous real-power output of 700 W at 25°C and 650 W at 40°C. Check both the running power and start-up demand of your appliances before connecting them.

When a suitable AC supply is connected, the MultiPlus can charge the battery at up to 35 A and transfer AC power to its output. The inverter/charger must be configured for this battery and the installation.

Solar charging during daylight

The included 130 W monocrystalline panel feeds the SmartSolar MPPT 100/30, which manages solar charging of the battery. The MPPT can be monitored and configured through the VictronConnect app using its built-in Bluetooth.

What does “130 W solar” mean? The panel's 130 W rating is measured under standard test conditions. Real output varies with sunlight, season, shading, panel angle and temperature. Solar can help replenish the battery during the day, but a single 130 W panel will not continuously support an 800 VA inverter operating near its maximum output.

The BMV-712 Smart measures battery current through its shunt and calculates information such as state of charge and estimated time remaining. Read it on the installed display or through VictronConnect via Bluetooth. The SmartSolar MPPT's charging information can also be viewed in VictronConnect.

The BMV and MPPT are separate devices. Installation and configuration determine which battery information each device measures and displays.

What else will I need?

This pack includes the five products listed above; it is not a pre-wired installation kit. Solar mounting hardware, PV and battery cables, suitable fuses, switches, AC protection and distribution, and other installation materials must be selected for the application. The BMV shunt must be installed so the intended charging and load currents are measured.
