Description
The Actisense W2K-2 is a rugged NMEA 2000 to Wi-Fi gateway designed to make onboard navigation and instrument data available wirelessly to compatible marine applications.
Connected directly to the vessel’s NMEA 2000 backbone, the W2K-2 can transmit information such as position, speed, course, wind, depth, engine and AIS data to a connected smartphone, tablet or computer.
Its integrated conversion engine converts NMEA 2000 messages to and from NMEA 0183 data streamed over Wi-Fi, allowing it to work with a wide selection of navigation software and marine applications. It supports TCP and UDP communication through up to three independently configured data servers.
The W2K-2 can operate simultaneously as a Wi-Fi access point and as a client connected to an existing onboard wireless network.
Actisense-i diagnostic tools are included to monitor the NMEA 2000 network, check bus voltage and identify connected devices. An optional microSD card of up to 128GB can also be installed to record network data for voyage analysis, race review, logbook creation and fault diagnosis.

Typical Applications
- Displaying vessel data on a smartphone or tablet
- Connecting NMEA-compatible navigation software to the boat network
- Streaming navigation, wind, depth, engine and AIS information
- Recording voyage or race data for later analysis
- Creating electronic voyage logs
- Diagnosing NMEA 2000 voltage or device communication problems
- Accessing NMEA 2000 information through an existing onboard Wi-Fi network
Important Information
The W2K-2 connects to an existing, correctly powered and terminated NMEA 2000 network. It does not create a complete NMEA 2000 backbone by itself.
A microSD card is required for data logging and should be purchased separately. Compatibility and available data functions depend on the connected application and the data present on the vessel’s NMEA 2000 network.
