Actisense Wi-Fi NMEA 0183 to NMEA 2000 Gateway, with PC interface (ISO connection)

The Actisense WGX-1-ISO is an intelligent, multifunctional gateway combining NMEA 0183 conversion, NMEA 2000 connectivity and wireless data streaming in one compact device.

It can convert data bi-directionally between legacy NMEA 0183 instruments and a modern NMEA 2000 network. This allows existing GPS, wind, depth, heading, AIS and other compatible NMEA 0183 equipment to share information with NMEA 2000 displays and multifunction chartplotters.

The integrated ISO cable provides an opto-isolated input and Actisense ISO-Drive output for safe connection to NMEA 0183, RS232 or RS422 equipment. The gateway supports data rates from 4,800 to 230,400 baud and fast-heading updates at up to 10Hz.

NMEA 0183 and NMEA 2000 data can also be streamed over Wi-Fi to compatible navigation applications running on smartphones, tablets or computers. The WGX-1 supports TCP and UDP communication and can operate as both a Wi-Fi access point and a client connected to an existing onboard network.

Built-in Actisense-i diagnostic tools monitor the condition of the NMEA 2000 network, including bus voltage and connected device status. Voyage data can also be recorded to an optional microSD card for later analysis.

Important Information

The WGX-1-ISO includes a wired ISO connection for NMEA 0183, RS232 and RS422 equipment. It does not include a USB cable; computer and mobile-device connectivity is provided over Wi-Fi.

The unit must be connected to an existing, correctly powered and terminated NMEA 2000 network. A microSD card is not supplied and must be purchased separately if data logging is required.

Available conversions depend on the supported NMEA sentences and PGNs. Not every proprietary data format can necessarily be converted.
